Performance-based objectives
  • Use the selection options to set a selection size, fade a selection, and apply a border to a selection. Transform and rotate an image using the Transform tools. Use the Liquify command to modify an image.
  • Retouch images by adjusting colors using the Curves, Color Balance, Brightness/Contrast, and Variations commands. Make images Web ready by using the Indexed Color mode, and prepare images for black and white printing by using the Grayscale mode.
  • Manipulate layers by adjusting the opacity and using blending modes. Create layer sets and use layer locks. Add and edit layer effects.
  • Add, create, and save layer styles and use adjustment layers.
  • Use the Channels palette to save and load a selection. Use Quick Mask, layer masks, and clipping groups to hide or reveal parts of a layer.
  • Use the Blur, Sharpen, Lighting Effects, Noise, and Brush Strokes filters to give special effects to images.
  • Automate Photoshop commands by creating and editing an action. Use the Batch and Contact commands to apply actions to multiple files.
  • Use ImageReady to optimize an image for the Web by choosing a proper file format. Create image slices and image maps. Create Web effects such as rollovers and animations, and save the file as an HTML file.
